Ferdinand and I went last Saturday to get all the necessities for our new puppy. No, we don't have her yet, we are just preparing - kinda like Linds and Jer prepared for Caden's arrival! We bought a crate, food/water bowls, leashes, a collar, a bag thingy for water when we hike/camp and a few toys. Everything is set up and ready to go. Can you tell we're excited? We were going to go look for the puppy last Saturday as well, but we were certain that we wouldn't be able to leave the rescue empty handed. We have decided to wait a few weeks until closer to the end of the school year. It's not very fair to the puppy to have her home alone with only a few scheduled potty breaks 4 days a week. Not to mention puppies can't really hold their potty and don't really have a schedule for their potty at first. We are hoping to bring our new bundle of joy home Memorial Day weekend. We are looking at a few puppy rescues and shelters for the right dog for us. We know she'll be a she and a puppy. We would like a lab mix - like a lab/golden retriever mix or a lab/German Shepherd mix. We wouldn't mind a lab/rottweiler mix because we really like rotties, but my dad laughed at that. I'm not really sure why. He said he was picturing a rottweiler in the back of the Subaru. Well, whatever we choose we will love her and we are ready for her!
In a side note, Lindsey and Jeremy welcomed baby Caden Paul on Friday, May 8 at 4:30 p.m. He was 7 lbs 10 oz and 19 1/2 inches. He is ridiculously adorable and beautiful. Everyone is doing well.
