Sadie and the Hendersons: Henderson Family Vacation

A few weeks ago we went on vacation with Ferdinand's family. We hadn't been on a family vacation with all the Henderson's in 5 years. Last time we went to the Oregon coast and Ferdinand and I had only been dating for 6 months and Janie and Ben weren't even a thought yet. This time was different. Traveling with 10 people, 2 of which are toddlers, is different. But it was so much fun!
We went to Canmore, Alberta which is outside of Banff National Park in Canada. It is so beautiful and clean in Canada. We had a great time hiking, shopping, playing and spending time together. We stopped at a lot of playgrounds for the kids and we even had a playground out the back door to our house. The kids were at that playground at least twice a day. We had a lot of picnic lunches and delicious dinners at night. We also had beautiful hikes right outside our door as well. The Bow river goes through the town of Canmore so Ferdinand was able to fish a few evenings and caught a few fish.
I took lots of pictures and they are not in order of the trip here. If you are a fellow blogger you know how long it takes to upload photos and then move them all around. Well, I don't feel like moving them around. Sorry!

This was taken at the top of Banff. We rode the Gondola up and then hiked a short way up even further.

Ben! I love this picture of him. He is so stinkin' cute and has tons of curls on the back of his head.

Janie was given a flower by the hotel garden keeper. She was showing it to me. She eventually gave it to a deer we saw so he could eat it. (Really her mommy threw it out the window near the deer.)

The view of Lake Louise from the top of the Lake Louise ski area. We rode up the chair lift and we were told you are almost guaranteed to see a bear. We didn't see a bear on the ride up and Ferdinand was super grumpy. He REALLY wanted to see a bear and was upset that we were trying to see one at 2:00 p.m. He was convinced it wasn't the right time in the day.

On our way down on the chair lift a guy going up told us there was a bear below. The way the guy said it made us think he was joking. Well, then every chair after him kept telling us to look up this ski run and we'd see a bear. Sure enough....we did! Ferdinand was SO happy. I was mad because I didn't have the right lens on the camera to get a good picture. He is the black dot on that ski run. Ferdinand's attitude changed for the day - thank goodness!

The Three Sisters - this was taken from an early morning hike all of us "kids" went on. It was cloudy and cool when we left the house but as we climbed the sky opened up. The town of Canmore is below those clouds. The fog didn't lift until right when we finished the hike.
